First things first.....everything works fine. Are you pushing the control past the float point. Try pushing the control lever a little further than you are. Most have another spot in the control valve for pressure. Its like a 2 stage lever. First place makes the bucket float and second stage makes pressure to make it curl under. Dont ask me how I know this.....
Float is at the end of the control movement not in the beginning, it will click in and hold in a detent when you hit float, and there is no float on the curl just the lift control.
What you are talking about is fast dump, as you go threw the control movement it will first go to slow dump (controlled release) then to fast dump. ;)

on.my.3901 it seems the loader is too powerful I love to adjust the hydraulics down a bit. the loader shakes the tractor and moves with.the slightest touch.

Kennedy, they should move more slowly at lower rpm's, is that not the case with yours? Alternatively does yours have a button on the joystick that is kind of a "hurry up" button that adds power independent of the throttle setting, could it be stuck?

only have the lock latch and the dent for float. even at low rpms(which isn't good for the tier4) it seems very fast except if I put the slightest of presure on it it will move slow and I.mean it is right there with the slightest of movement. if I go alway on the valves I think it will literally flip the tractor.

I am not sure what to make of this tractor I am really new and what I experience isn't what I expected. I am debating if I made a good choice on my first real work tractor.I would gladly except a loss in lift to keep me from being afraid of over powering. I have been feathering all the work I do with the loader.

Ok, back to my curl thing...

So the other day I was working with a large pile of sand, been scooping off the face and up, pile was getting taller than I wanted so I ran the front tires up the pile, bucket up and over the top, lowered it down on the other side of the pile and tried to curl under and pull the top of the pile toward me. Not enough curl power to budge it, left the bucket curled under and had to back up to pull that sand over.

I am not sure how fast it is when you put full pressure on the valve, whether it is normal or not. If you want some of the 3901 owners on the forum to tell you, you could put a video up in youtube. It should still be under warranty, and I think your dealer should be willing to help you with it. If nothing else you could go back to the dealership and see with him if another loader behaves the same way. It will take a while to get used to your new tractor, but I think you will like it in the end.

In the meantime, be reassured that it will not hurt your tier 4 tractor to run at a lower rpm when you need your loader to work slowly, especially in warm weather. Safety trumps having it need to regenerat a little more often. I run mine at all different rpms and it regenerates about every 23 hrs on average. You do need to pay attention to rpm when it is approaching a regen cycle, but as far as I have been able to determine from Kubota, it is not harmful to run it at a lower rpm as needed for the job at hand. These new engines are easy to start so no need to leave it on and idling however, and using a lower rpm than needed (lugging) is also not a good idea.

In my owners manual it listed the speed for each function on the loader. It had it down to 1/10 of a second how long it should take to: full dump, roll back ground to full height, ect... Does your manual list any of this, if so you can time it and see if your loader if to fast or if it's normal.

My specs are raise time 3.5s, lower 2.3s, dump 1.7s, scoop 2.2s. no way can i time those.

What your 1001, 1002 count is not that accurate?

Actually there are free cell phone timer apps!
"One thousand one, one thousand two, ..." is subject to variations in speech patterns that render it inaccurate except for the most skilled and disciplined timekeepers. "OneMississippiTwoMissippi..." is useful to almost all American English-speaking folk.

I suspect that your diction is so good that you would be unaware of that danger. :D
