The rear tires on my tractor are loaded with Rim Guard. I went to check the air pressure in the rear tires, but when I push in on the valve fluid comes out. I do have the valve at the 12 o'clock position. Should the fluid level be below the Schrader valve?
This is with the tire jacked up off the ground.

Yes, but it’s also normal to get a little squirt of fluid when you first pop open the Schrader valve even if the valve is above the fluid level. If you get a continuous stream with the valve at 12 o’clock, that would be abnormal for properly filled tires.

It's a continuous flow. Then I guess I should drain the excess fluid out.

Also be aware that "most" tire pressure gauges don't like "liquid" in them ... When filled properly, there is a tiny bit that comes out first, let that out with your finger, then put the gauge on it ... Or get a gauge rated for liquid ...

Drained about a cup of fluid out of one tire, very little out of the other. All set now.
Thanks all

Another minor point. Tires are often filled with the tire/tractor raised off the ground. So 'squat' can make a full tire seem over filled. Especially true is the tire is low on air to begin with.

But was it off the ground during filling? IE, did some book say for example, '11.5 gallons' and the shop money got close and never bothered to bleed out the excess..

My tractor spit the first dozen times I did air pressure checks, perhaps 1/4 teaspoon each time.

Honestly, other than bleeding the excess out, I'd not sweat it. Whats for dinner is more important.

I don't know what they did when filling. But I do know that I had the tire off the ground when checking, draining off the excess and setting the tire pressure to the proper psi.
Steak tips on the grill.
