He is checking out the fox den about 50m from out house. Ballsy little bastard, he keeps looking towards our house :(
He is checking out the now abandoned fox den. The foxes left a week or so ago after a coyote tried to get into the den. Momma took her 6 kits one by one and moved that night.

Very cool. He's a pretty rascal. I suspect not much would mess with him in his current state, except humans. There is one that passes through around here. and I get him on my game cam from time to time...and the damned coyotes too.

At least he didn't look rapid like the one these poor people ran into.

^ lol, he definitely isn't rabid and I wouldn't be throwing him even if he was :)

Last night I caught a clip of 2 coyotes passing through. I usually only see one at a time.

As far as the bobcat goes. . . we have two labs, one about 65lbs and the other 75lbs. They go crazy when they see any of the wildlife in the woods (deer, fox, coyotes or bobcat). I know the fence I have up will pretty much keep out 3 of the 4. It's that 4th I sometimes think about. Labs aren't very aggressive and I'm just as happy if they don't meet kitty.

Had a big iron pin in the the corner of the yard, everything that passed by the old iron pin pissed on it,foxes dogs, cats, people threw out unwanted animals at the bridge on the river a mile away, scent travels downhill , everything that wandered by pissed on that pin ,me included, put a camera on it ,saw bear ,hogs big bobcat, then the coyotes moved in and now don't see anything. This posting brings back so many memories. Thanks for sharing

^^ LOL holy hell! that was hilarious and terrifying at the same time

CT I'm bummed your foxes moved out :( I was looking forward to more videos of them. I only catch very quick glimpses of them here, they are so elusive and fascinating. Incredible that she knew to move after coyote came sniffing around

My wife just showed me Facebook photos from neighbor 1/2 mile down the road.

Bobcat spent quite a bit of time in the yard...couple pics were right up against the house. Seemed pretty comfortable there, and looked like a juvenile.

We've had a decent coyote population for 30+ years. Black Bears for 20+.

Recently have been seeing the bobcats and fishers on regular basis.

I'll take a bobcat in the yard over a Fisher any day...

there's a couple that I see sometimes

I like to watch them hunt for moles and rats. The most efficient hunters of any animal I know of. As smart and efficient as they are, they don't always succeed-but it's as if they LEARN from each hunt. Definitely interesting to watch them.

I have a cat in the house now (just a playful overgrown rescue kitten). He hunts (or stalks/plays) JUST like his wild cousins do. Real interesting to study their ways of doing things and trying to "understand" their body language.
