Is there an attachment available that can be bolted to the bucket for ripping out small roots (salmonberry himalayaberry) ? Something like the pallet forks for "light duty".

Northern used to have a single tooth for small tractors that would bolt on the bucket, like loader arms. I don't see it anymore online. Looked like a handy idea. It would focus the energy onto one small area which would give even small tractors more utility.

I looked in the Northern catalog also and didn't see anything. I would be using it on my Allis Chalmers D15 so I was thinking something with a few steel fingers to rip down through the soil. Maybe something would need to be fabbed up that could be bolted to the bucket.

I made on e out of junk parts for the three point. It required some weight. We used it for tearing up a gravel road where there was thin base course and the chip seal pavement failed.. then we dug out the loosened with the bucket and the silt subgrade and added gravel. The "We" here was myself and a heavy guy who stood on the three point attachment.

So you might look at a box blade with only one finger set low.

I took one of the teeth off of my box-blade, which already have holes drilled in them for adjustment. Drilled two holes into the side of my backhoe bucket and bolted the tooth on.
Works great! I can adjust it for length(or depth rather) and it cuts through some pretty thick stuff. Could also be easily put onto the side of the FEL if needed.

Some interesting ideas and info here, thanks. There's definitely more attachments available to do chores I never thought about being able to do with my tractor. I still dont see a "light duty", bolt on the bucket, multi fingered attachment, that would rake through the soil and dislodge salmon berry roots, probably meaning if its not on the marked it wouldn't work for some reason. I've used my old AC tractor for over thirty years but the new Kubota 3800 has her beat for mowing, especially without that FEL out front:p

Spike tooth harrow or chain harrow might work.

I have salmonberry but never tried to rip roots out.
