Off topic, but our rifle season started yesterday also.

Only about 80% sure, but I think I saw 2 bear cubs tearing through our place last night. About 35 yards from back door.

Too much brush to be certain, but coal black and I didn't see any tails....

We've had bears here for years. Just haven't laid eyes on one before.
Be Careful!… Don’t shoot unless you’re CERTAIN what you’re shooting at…. Remember,…. BLACK LIVES MATTER!

My son's whitetail buck on the B2650 last November. It's really good having the tractor loader for hauling it out of the bush, too.
That's a nice size. You grow them big up there!

Too overpopulated (deer & people) here in my area of PA

Yes this big boy and several others like him were mooning my trail cam at night for a couple weeks before he showed up in range from our barn where my son had just arrived at dawn. Heard the big boom, made sure bucky was dead, and went and got the kubota. He cleaned and skinned it, and left the hanging, cutting and freezer packing to dad and mom. That was a really sweet tasting buck, next one please? It's time!

Here is my set up. I do lift the deer with loader to hang it in my barn for a day or two and then back on the loader for skinning and butchering.

Just a follow up, I filled my Mule Deer Doe tag today with what I think is the biggest Mule Deer Doe I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t going for that, but it was the best broadside shot of all of the animals. Seriously surprised about how big it really was. Not just my imagination … the guy working at the meat processor made a comment about how big it was.

My wife and I couldn’t lift it into the bed of the truck (F450), but my L2501 could. ;) Well, I”m sure I could have pulled to a place and put the tailgate next to a hill, but it was nice to have the tractor bucket and loader. That was the only easy part of the several hour recovery through tall sagebrush.

I found it harder than expected to get my mule deer buck up to full height it's feet barely off the ground with bucket on. I'm thinking I probably should have put on my pallet forks. The antlers kept wanting to hit the bucket. Got it done, but I was kind of surprised.

What do you guys do ... use pallet forks or a bucket hook?
Thinly disguised brag thread!

No, mule deer bucks are pretty tall. :D

Just lucky it wasn't this one from a couple of years ago. I didn't have a tractor at the time, but I was able to get it into a trailer. No camera tricks. For reference, I'm 6'2" and about 215 lbs.

Nice buck. Never hunted mule deer. Don’t have them here. They seem to run a bit bigger than our white tails on average.

Oh, oh my bad! It isn't a thinly disguised brag thread, it's an outright obvious brag thread! My apologies!
