The difference in price between an MX5400 and an M62 would more than pay for a forklift. More like a forklift and a car as well. A 3ph forklift unit is a good idea, probably cheaper than a used forklift. Also better if your ground isn't very level. A used forklift would be far more useful for so many tasks though.

hmm, maybe a forklift repair place has a used mast ?? Something old/odd ball/can't certify...??
options...
Beware when you are looking at used lifting devices. When you buy uncertified or if you modify lifting devices you negate all certs.

If you are a business and someone gets hurt when you are using your uncertified lifting device you will be up the creek without a paddle real fast. That's why in Ontario if you see a flame cut hole in the end of forklift forks they are automatically deemed scrap and unsafe.

This comes up all the time and I know I've said this a lot. "I burn wood bricks they come one ton per skid I unload 8 skids of them from a flatbed trailer and double stack them in my garage with my MX5800 or my MX5400 they do the job on a paved flat lot. It is all they can do to pull this off and I'm glad I only have to do it once a year." I have approximately 1500lbs of combined counter weight on the back of the tractors when I do this but the tractor is at its very limit.

I really would like to know how your going to get a three point fork lift to pick up anything off of a semi trailer?

A lot of times up here they don't put it on a pallet they just drop the bag on the flatbed.
Heck of a lot more stable!

no, that's what I'd call a 'carryall'....I still use the one I made 20 years ago, out of, ironically, forklift forks. !
they actually make 3PH, forklift masts. Nice for those that need an offroad forklift once in awhile and can't justify the cost of a dedicated machine.
