Got a newer BX2680 and just noticed a leak from the FEL at one of the connection points.

Before I try to tighten, reseat or whatever (don't want to make a mess) any ideas on what this could be? I think it just started this winter.

The connection is circled in this pic (the connection on the right):

Try to tighten the fitting, but make sure you have a backup wrench on the square block holding it or you can very easily crack the tube.

So I shouldn't try to reseat it? I tried to tighten in gently and it seemed tight.

You could loosen it first then reseat it, but like whitetiger said put a wrench on the square block and then tighten the nut, it's a flared fitting so it need to be pretty snug.

JIC 08 - finger tight and mark with a Sharpie. Then tighten 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 flats with a wrench.

Its darn near impossible to get a wrench in there. I did and I think it moved a little. I just don't like how hard it is to access and I don't want to make it worse. I'm gonna keep an eye on it and my fluid level for now unless anyone has any tricks on how to better access them/tools to use.

You could remove the outer line first, so you would have better wrench access to that back flare nut.

Eh.. I'd rather not risk more leaks. I was able to get in from the inside part of the FEL. I think it did move a hair... so far a couple hours later an no leaks. We shall see over the next couple days I guess.

Also inspect the flare for a microcrack. I am guessing it is just loose as I found a couple loose on my backhoe.

Flare fitting nuts are loosened, and tightened again every day .....everywhere.
No need to be afraid of loosening, and re-tightening.
