I have a cylinder leaking. Anybody know where I can get a service manual and parts manual for the loader? Going to rebuild the cylinder and just want to make sure that I assemble it correctly. I looked at Kubota Books but cant find the LB402 loader listed.

Thanks

Put it together the same way you take it apart and if it’s never been taken apart before it might be very difficult to, I had a hydraulic shop break mine open and then I just rebuilt It. Got my seals aftermarket because everything‘s ridiculous with the prices.

Most parts are discontinued, but seal kits are available from Messick's, through your dealer or probably at a hydraulic shop.

Loosen the gland before you remove the cylinder, let the tractor hold it for you. Likewise for the piston nut, it's pretty tight. You'll need a face spanner (size?) or large pipe wrench to unscrew the gland. Take pictures before you remove the seals to refer to for re-assembly. Carefully note the orientation of the wiper and seal in the gland.

There are tools available on eBay and elsewhere for folding the rod seal to install it, but they're not absolutely necessary.

Heat the plastic parts to make them go on easier. Be careful not to scratch the rod.

here's the boom cylinder diagram from Kub Cda, Messisk's will have similar. download and print 2 copies, hang near clean, well lit workbench.
Take 2-3 good pictures of what you have BEFORE you dissassemble. As you take yours apart, layout in order they come off.

Also buy TWO kits,as usually the other cylinder will start to leak after you fix the first one.

I paid $100 out the door each, to have a hydraulic shop rebuild the lift cylinders on my B2910 LA402 loader.

Probably the best money I have spent in a long time...couple years ago now though...
