I think the one I bought must have ingested 3 or 4 tons of gravel off the guys driveway as the blades were all 'chewed' and ends wore out. Hard to believe GRASS clippings would do that damage.

Grass is abrasive, that's why blades need to be sharpened often. I see wear on my fan and have never hit gravel. I think pine needles are even worse then grass.

Using my TerraKing going on 3 years.

Make sure to put suitcase weights on the front to offset 20 bushel weight on the back!
Awesome device.
Cost $2800 then.
Never a problem.
Hi Chriscozi,
I just received my TerraKing 3pt vacuum. I've been getting it set up (cutting PTO shaft, sorting out wiring, making a better stand, etc). I also purchased the AgriFab 45-0607 "universal" deck boot, and it sure looks to be too small for my BX2380.

What boot did you use?

Thanks!
Jim

Hi - Mine came with the Terra King. Has a small window on top, a bracket to bolt on the front edge of the deck and one to bolt on the rear. No drilling was required as the holes were there in the deck from the factory. They really mad it fit nicely.

I bought the agrifab around 15 years ago. Use it every year. Some things I learned over the years. Only use it when the lawn and leaves are DRY DRY DRY. Otherwise it will clog if the slightest wet. I mulch the leaves for weeks until I use the lawn vac. Less work and more mulched leaves can fit in the box. Not sure what size engine I have but its a beast. Every fall it starts up first pull and sounds like a B29 taking off. Its so powerful I had to secure the back door with a ratchet strap. Very powerful. Not one issue with it. The air in the tires is 15 years old :p .I use non ethanol and run it dry before storing. I paid around $1200 at TSC around 2010? Pull it with my BX24. Soon to be a GR2100

OK, I found the boot kit for a 60" BX2380.... it's $400. SO. My local dealer has it for $1333. All that said it's time to see if I can make one from some 16ga steel I have sitting around.

Thats some serious price gouging. Don't think I would do business them.

Another question....I have a TKV20 TerraKing system, and the PTO shaft shield (the accordion-like cone around the PTO shaft yoke) doesn't fit on my BX2380. I sent multiple pics to AgriFab and even though the TKV20 lists the BX2380 as compatible, AgriFab just said "we don't have a solution". $5000 for the unit and the PTO shaft shield interferes with the tractor. OK...now that I have that out of my system...

Chriscozi: Does your PTO shaft shield on the tractor end fit OK? Here's a pic of mine not fitting OK.

I had the same problem. I trimmed a couple inches off the accordion and its been fine.
The fault is the BX non-standard spacing. We bought sub-compacts so I guess they had to take room from somewhere . lol.

I’ve have a DR I bought used for about 12 years ago. Replaced the motor about 5 years ago and the second year I had it I built a new box as the original box was too small for my needs. I bought it as the one it replaced crashed during leaf season. The blower part has been trouble free with the exception of coupling elements every few years. We vac about 2 acres and live in the wood so it gets a workout.

I contacted AgriFab, and they were less than helpful about resolving this, especially considering the BX2380 is listed as a compatible tractor on their website. There are PTO shafts which fit just fine (my brush hog is shown below)....I did flip the "check chain plate" upside down to get some more clearance and it will likely work (see the pic). Anyhow, just a bit frustrated that a $5k leaf vac has some very basic compatibility problems that could be solved if AgriFab was thorough in their work.
