Up until January, dealers have been able to lock in incentives, prices and financing, but according to what my dealer said, anything ordered Jan 1 is no longer price protected, nor is any financing or incentives locked in. On orders they now add that there are no guarantees on pricing, incentives and finance rates due to the current market. Kubota has shut the door on price and finance locks. I think other manufacturers are doing the same thing moving forward.

Well, if other manufacturers are NOT doing the same thing, it’ll hurt Kubota’s sales and market share.
However, I think you’re correct, most other tractor manufacturers will follow suit.

Automotive manufacturers are already adjusting base prices of their vehicles. The base price of my truck increased $1,500 from the time of order to delivery.

Ford increased prices on the Superduties twice sine December and price locked the december price increases, but no mention of them price locking orders on the latest increases. Ford sent a letter out to dealers prompting them to lock in prices before the rate increase December 7.

Yep. I lived that.
I placed my new Super Duty order in April ‘21, my order changed from a 2021 to 2022 model year, the order was accepted in June ‘21 and I took delivery late December ‘21. I can’t quite remember how much more the base price increased from order to delivery but it was at least $1,500. Now, the MSRP of my truck is $4K more. Insane!!!

That they are. If I were to replace my 2018 F150 with a 22, it would be $8K more for the same options. I ordered a Platinum LB F350 powerstroke on 2/4/22, hoping I might see a VIN this week, but not holding my breath. The way these are scheduled is so odd, some guys get a VIN within a week, others wait months to get one, and there is no consistency as to what was ordered, some can get a loaded out Limited in 2 months while an XLT takes 6 months or more. I was told 9 months to get one, will see. It took 8 weeks from order date to delivery when I ordered my F150.

Ordered a GMC 3500 Denali Diesel a couple of weeks ago, I was told it would be at least 16 weeks but likely more. It will come with pieces missing (parking sensor functionality) and hopefully they will finish building it within the first 12 months!

Prices just went up again and my price is not guaranteed. The world really has gone a little crazy! Looking forward to more time in the tractor seat when the snow melts, the woods are much more peaceful than the rest of the world.

Wow! So they expect buyers to buy something without knowing what the price actually is?

Who the heck would agree to that?

Totally agreed. The scheduling makes zero sense. Some trucks get picked up in a couple weeks when others take months, regardless of options and features.
My guess is that the scheduling has something to do with ‘regional’ allocation but, I can’t get an answer from any authority.

My order was for a 2022 F250 CCSB PowerStroke Platinum Tremor w/ HCTP. Amazing truck and it was well worth the wait!

TESLA purchasers. If you want to know the "on the road" price of a new TESLA you have to use your credit card and pay before you see the final price.

In this market, the manufacturers are getting away with it. The only thing that’ll stop it, is if folks stop buying their products. The problem is, with all the shortages, that’s not going to happen.

Make friends with your dealers and try to make the best of it.

Because of the long delay on a build, I decided to buy a 3 year family plan to EAA. 90 days from becoming a member allows me to generate a PIN for an X plan. It is up to the dealer if they wish to accept it or not, but at least it is an option. It is a $4,405 discount.

Ha! I would have loved to get their grapple but pay 100% and get it in 7 months? Nope.

I think EA actually has a pay 50% program when ordering, and the remaining 50% sometime later.

I saw you posting over on the Ford Truck forums…

Check with your dealer regarding the X-Plan. My dealer isn’t accepting any discount plans until inventory normalizes…which isn’t likely to happen, lol

Considering how long I have been doing business with them and they usually go below invoice on all sales to me, he might accept it, but have to wait to be able to generate a pin. If anything it should be enough to get it under MSRP with them.
