Landpride SGC0660 grapple issue

Good day everyone. While operating the grapple on my LX2610 (~75hours on tractor) the other day by lifting some logs the top lid began opening by itself and I had to repeatedly use the control buttons to close it. I stopped the tractor and lowered the grapple so I could see everything. After not finding any leaks I re-started the tractor and everything seems fine and worked well for many hours after that. It had also worked for at least an hour prior to that as well.

Hydraulic fluids all appear to be at the correct levels and I haven't had any issues since. What might cause that issue? I was thinking the electronic actuator might have had something to do with it but not sure what else?

Sticky solenoid, bad wiring in your controls

I'd start by checking all the wires and harness connectors you might have a short somewhere

I was thinking the same. It just seems strange that it only happened this one time and never prior or since. Wiring is easy enough to check, the solenoid not so much. Might be time to just buy a spare solenoid to have just in case.

I’ve had a a similar problem with mine (same model) when using in my B on something that is really too large (usually tiltometer starts to pucker and look back to make sure ballast box on) and basically on the edge of what can be lifted for that machine…only happened with large logs…I’ve always assumed it’s beyond the capability of the implement/system. Does t happen with smaller logs and brush…only really large logs (barely get the teeth/jaws around)when seems to have have a trouble to hold its grip…seems to be fine with smaller bites.

I don't think it's the size of the log because they were actually quite small (~10" diameter x 8 feet long), especially compared to the very large logs I had been carrying. I was not near capacity.

Intermittent electrical issues are a joy. You might have an insulator rubbed through somewhere and a little moisture providing intermittent contact

Same grapple, hydraulics can leak down. How much brush/logs are you transporting at once? How bumpy is the terrain? I press the close button several times bring logs up from the woods (load shifts some in the grapple)
Anything over 8' long, I don't like the twisting forces on the FEL on bumpy surfaces.

Your grapple can handle some impressive loads for an LX

Maxed out B2650 FEL lift capacity

Had a dead tree at the top of the driveway hillside. Dropped it before it fell in the driveway. Used 2 snatch blocks, 200+ feet of wire cable to increase tractors pulling power 3X. Saved 2 logs for lumber logs. B2650, LA534 loader and LP0660 grapple. FEL could not lift it. Curled grapple down...

This was more than a leak down. I know what you mean by that, I notice the same thing while working that it will leak down slightly to a looser hold. My problem was more like actively hitting the button to open it. Much more rapid and intentional.

I've already put this thing through some really large loads of logs (18"x8' red/white oak) and have been awed by what it can do.

I had an issue I think the same issue with the same grapple on a B and the the grapple would not close at a high rpm only with the slower rpm the dealer fixed and said it was a bad quick coupler the grapple and tractor were brand new
