Welcome to the OTT forum. You have joined a great site. Enjoy.

I have the RTA1258 model and really like it. It will till faster and deeper.
It gives great light soil to plant with.

I had a much cheaper tiller before that even if you went over it 6 times it would not be that light.

mickeyd,
Living that close to the factory, why did you choose the LP-RTA1258 over the King Kutter model? I am in the market for a tiller and got a price from them for the RTG-60-YK that my local Kubota dealer could not get close to.

The reason I took the LP at that time, was because it was part of my tractor purchase so I got 0% on everything.

Are you planning to come over here to pick it up?

If I go that way. I talked with the factory and was informed that my location was considered local and I could purchase directly from there. I just have to decide which way I want to go, forward or reverse, LP or KK.

I chose a KK II which is reverse rotation with 6 tines per flange. The LP only had 4 tines per flange. The KK had one more flange to the rotating shaft than the comparable LP did.

Haven't used an LP to compare the results that the KK II gives me but the KK II does a really fabulous job.

The big decision between forward or reverse is normally based on your soil.

If your land has big rocks or a lot of tree roots then most go with a forward tiller so that it will walk over them and not hang up the tractor.

If your land in sandy with nothing much in it , the reverse tiller is considered a little better. Also, the reverse tiller will use more HP even if you don't try to go deeper or faster on each pass.
