Will a Landpride 64" RTA20 forward tine tiller work on my L3800 Kubota tractor? I would like to have a tiller that covers my wheel treads - my width is 61". The ground I work in is sandy loam river bottom soil with hardly no rocks at all. Generally Kubota likes to suggest a somewhat smaller size tiller than one this large for the L3800 although the sales PR alows for a tiller of this size behind a L3800.

Last fall I borrowed a friends 72" John Deere tiller and it worked well - the tractor handled it fine. The tines were however a wee bit shorter- about 6" verses the 7" depth of the Landpride 64" RTA20.

I would appreciate hearing from you if you can help shed some light and experience.

I'm looking at the same series but RTR or reverse tine rotation. The website stated "working width" is 64", my Kubota guy tells me this is the cutting width and add 2 inches per side for housing, so I think you/we are covered. I'm looking at a L3800 but have not purchased. I was considering the 15 series, but the increased weight, number of c-tines and 17 diameter were the deciding factors, but it is expensive, buy once, keep up on maintenance, enjoy forever (or long time).

Lots of info on the Land Pride website, here is the link to the 20 series.

Thanks for the input. The challenge with going to the reverse tine tilling for a 64" tiller matched to a Kubota L3800 is that the extra hp it takes to run reverse vs forward may just be too much - especially if the soil conditions are a bit challenging. I too have looked into reverse tine tilling and for my application I have decided to stick with forward tine tilling.
