Hi! I will buying an L2501 here in the coming weeks and I’m looking at attachments. I was wondering if anyone has used the Land Pride RCR1860 rotary cutter with the 2501? The dealer recommended it to me but I want to make sure I’m making a good decision. I’d like to know how it performed and if the tractor would have issues running it. Thanks!

I know nothing about Land Pride but I regularly use a five foot King Kutter behind my L2501. It has the HST transmission and does not lack for power. I mow about ten acres. The ground is a bit rough so it takes about forty five minutes or so per acre.

I have a RCF2072 which was recommended by my dealer. I live in dryland which means the grass isn’t that thick. It was fine for me at 4500 elevation. I don’t think a RCR1860 would be an issue at normal elevations with thicker grass. Also, Kubota recommends the 60, so I think you will be good.

That’s exactly what I use and it works great. The 1260 that Kubota recommends is to light weight for me. My buddy has it for his L2501 and dented it with no effort on a stump. He also recommended the 1860 when I bought mine. Zero regrets . Wouldn’t go any lighter. You will love it. By The Way get the pto shaft cover chains. It doesn’t come with them. Safer when in tall brush and grass. Had to order mine later. Not expensive at all. Not sure why LP doesn’t include them. They do on other 3pt implements like my spreader. Congrats on getting the 2501. It is a worker. Use mine all the time. The picture on my avatar is that very same brush hog.

I use it on my LX SU with no regrets. It is tough (I have hit a few things with no dents), and it offered the slip-clutch which has saved me time several times.

You do have to slip the slip-clutch every year, but you get to decide when to do that versus snapping a shear bolt while working. I will be slipping my slip-clutch on a nice cool day in March this year versus probably replacing a shear bolt on a hot summer or cold winter day.

I used an RCF2060 on My 2501 with no issues. I took it through some pretty heavy brush. It is surprising the torque the 2501 has.
