Yesterday, I bought a Land Pride PD10 PHD and 9” auger for the BX to drill some holes for my deck rebuild/ expansion and a planned vinyl rail fence project. Wife said she didn’t wanna see me having to dig the holes by hand and told me to just go buy a PHD for the tractor. She didn’t have to tell me twice to spend money on toys! Lol. The next day, I stopped by the local Kubota and JD dealers to price one. Neither dealer had anything in stock and no idea when/ if they could actually get anything. A quick search online turned up a new one at a Kubota dealer an hour away. The best part is, they were $400 cheaper than the local dealer’s price and only $180 higher than a used one I found. My only complaint is that it looks like it will only dig about 26” deep with the included auger and they don’t recommend using an extension. I may have to finish hand digging the holes to depth since the frost line depth in Indiana is 36”.

You could always start the holes with the smaller auger then get a longer 9" for the last foot or so. I believe standard auger bits are 4' long. Drop it in the hole hook it up and drill away.
When I wanted holes for my carport I just rented a Bobcat locally. It easily went the required 36".
@BXHoosier Looking forward to seeing how this works for you, neighbour and I are toying with the idea of getting one but like @Roadworthy mentioned I too could bring a skid steer home however it's not as convenient. Hopefully this works for you and wanting to see the outcome, we unfortunately need at least 48" down to pass the frost line.
I ended up making an 8” auger extension to get my holes to about 34” deep and I hand dug them the rest of the way to 42”. Any more than an 8” extension would have put the PTO shaft beyond its recommended max operating angle.
I did the same with my last tractor (L3400) and no-name phd. I made a 1' extension to drill 100+ holes for a fence in the woods. Was able to get honest 36" holes easily.
