I have a BX23S and I purchased the Land Pride 3rd function valve kit, and started to install it today, when I got to the part where you have to remove a hose that goes to the loader valve, and replace it with the 2 hoses from the 3rd function valve, and then read the note that this isn't the instructions for tractors with backhoes on them. The instructions didn't give any more instructions on how to properly install the valve, and "recommends" that you take it to the Kubota dealer for them to hook up the hoses.
Does anyone have the correct instructions for installing the Land Pride valve on the BX23S?
thanks for the help...

No one at Messick knew any more about this than I did, so they gave me a telephone number in Ohio for Kubota Technical Service. After about 3 minutes of the call not being answered, I moved onto the alternative plan, call Land Pride directly.
The person at Land Pride technical support answered quickly, and gave me the information that I needed. The "warning" in the instructions were because if you hook up the hoses not as specifically directed, you will dead head the hydraulics and damage them. I explained that following the instructions, I marked one hose at both ends with yellow crayon, and that there was no chance of messing this up. Apparently, the warning is for those that can't read and follow instructions. I also learned that I got the wrong part for the BX23S, since I wanted all flat faced couplers, and the one that I ordered comes with both Pioneer and Flat Face couplers. The correct part number for the BX23S with all flat faced couplers is 380-339A. Other than that, the two kits are identical.

Sounds like you're getting it figured out. Are you able to use the kit you got or are you going to switch it out for all flat face couplers?

I am going with all flat faced couplings. The salesman at Messick, told me that the mistake was on my part, and that I would have to purchase both the male and female couplings if I didn't want the pioneer couplings. I balked at that and told him that it was the last time that I would order from them, and then asked for a supervisor. The supervisor understood how this error occurred, and is going to be sending me a pair of flat faced couplings. The problem lies with the fact that there is no clear definitions to exactly is in what is in each kit. If I don't get them in a week or so, then I will order them from Surplus Center.

Sounds like it worked out and you got the answers you needed.

Thread Hijack, hopefully someone has an idea.

LP Third function Flat Couplers dealer installed on my BX 23S: When I try to attach my LP grapple, one of the two valves is always super stiff and literally takes be 2-3 minutes of working it to get it to snap in.
I'm quite sure I've worked the joystick on all angles while off in order to relieve any pressure, not sure what my problem is, maybe just a bum coupler, or is there a special trick to get the third function valves to snap right in?

Land Pride Technical Support... That is where I got my information from.

For immediate assistance, call 785-823-3276. Very helpful and knowledgeable people answering the phone. Don't even have to jump through hoops to get to them. Kubota should offer the type of service that Land Pride does!
