I'm having a issue with my LA844 loader bucket tilt, after I lift the bucket it lowers all by itself? There is no external leak and I have resealed both cylinders with no success? HELP Needed!

You have rebuild both cylinders and put new internal seals in them?
Do you do the work yourself or did a shop do it?

Roll the bucket back, disconnect the lines to the loader valve, if it rolls down over any amount of time, the cylinder seals have failed again. ;)

If it doesn't then it's an issue with the valve, But valves very rarely have bled down problems. ;)

Wolfman,

I'm having the same problem and I've narrowed it down to the cylinders. However, when I go to Merrick's for kits, they say I have to have the SN of the loader before they can tell me which cylinder kit to get and they are NOT interchangeable. My problem is the data sticker was pretty faded and I just got "T?8848" from the sticker so I tried to clean it up a little and now the SN is completely GONE!!

Any idea what year.month the LA844 production changed the cylinders? My MX5100HST was built in 2012.

Why make a data plate so it fades away??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can always remove the cylinder and disassemble it and take it to a hyd. repair shop and have them measure and order the components, or just have them do all the work and you not disassemble them. Usually a very reasonable fee for components.

That's odd when I look it up I only see one set ever used, not two different sets?

With what I read you could safely get the rebuild kit and be good.
But I would also suggest doing as D2Cat suggests, and look into a local hydraulic shop too as they can sometime be way cheaper for the seals.
But i know things can sometimes get real tricky when trying to get normal things done when you live in a remote location, your on an island, I'm just stuck in the woods! ;)

Go to kubota directly and look for yourself at the seal kits.

I ain't done an 844 in a while but a LOT of loaders will have serial number breaks. Why? Because Kubota (as well as other manufacturers of different colored tractors) commonly will switch cylinder manufacturers or cylinder styles mid-production, and the only way to know if you have the "early" or "late" cylinder is by the serial numbers. Sometimes even then you can run into one that might have late bucket cylinders and early boom cylinders. Did a LA480 like that today. Talk about being throwed a curve!

Sometimes (not often) you can find a part number stamped or etched into the cylinder barrell, such as 75596-21088 or something like that. With that, you can dig around in the breakdown and "usually" get pretty close with which cylinder kit you need.

Yeah that "can" be fun.

Take it to a hyd shop. Probably get it done for half of what the seal kit cost and it you take it apart yourself it'll be even cheaper.
