Well, in spite of the faults this loader may have, it sure works great! Here are some pictures of my latest loader work moving thousands of pounds of wet red mud out of a drainage along our road. I love using this tractor, it is one heck of a lot more fun than a shovel and wheelbarrow:D

Millsrv, nice work. Do you have a grass mat of some kind to put on your finished work to help get some growth, or is this an ongoing problem?

Do you have some sort of bar such as a piranha bar or something on your bucket to aid in the digging, or was that all with the stock bucket? Looks good! As D2 asked, are you going to retain it somehow with matting or wire?

Really glad you got your issue worked out!

I just took a look at mine and I didn't see any issues but I'll keep an eye out.

When I pulled this thread up today I saw your cat on the seat of your tractor. One year ago on Christmas Day I had to put down my cat that looked identical to yours after 20 plus years, brought back a lot of fond memories.

Her name is Luna, my GF just got her from the pound. She had been a barn cat and turned in, someone adopted her to be an indoor cat, she didn't like that, so she is earning her keep in our barn as a mouser and general caretaker/tractor sitter. lol

Thanks!
All done with the stock bucket no attachments used.

This work was not my property, in fact the gentleman holding the shovel owns the property and is my neighbor. I am not sure what is going to be done in that area, our local road committee might have a plan. I was simply helping with my tractor.

After years of serious drought we are now getting crazy amounts of rain. There are rocks and mud sliding all over. I have never seen anything like this, the higher elevations here have a 20 year record snow pack. We are pretty happy about that:)

Nice work!!

I have moved lots of dirt with mine, tearing down the old motocross track. It's all hard clay and my kubota sure has made short work of it so far.

I filled out MDhughes speadsheet with my serial number and measurements. All else is pretty quiet.

Not to hijack this thread but out of curiosity, since we're on the topic of the LA525 loader, does anyone know what diameter the loader pins are? I'm thinking about trying to find some washers to shim the gaps where each of the cylinders and loader arm. There's easily 1/8 - 1/4 is shaft showing at each point and makes the loader seem really sloppy.

I think they left a little space in there on purpose so it has some room to move without bending it too badly. My advice would be to get it reinforced like we are talking about and leave the space.... But that's just me.

I suppose that may be the case but last trip I took to the kubota dealer I Was looking at all the other loaders, mainly the grand Ls, the Mx and the L4701 and the loader joints on all those machines were much tighter. I didn't look over the smaller loaders on the b and Bx series but it seems like the smaller standard L series have looser loader joints. Not sure the reasoning behind it though. From my previous experience building hydraulic concrete conveyors, every articulation joint would have been shimmed with an appropriate diameter washer or bushing to keep everything tight and have even wear on the pins.

The 534 loader has different, thicker, beefier flanges based on my observations. From what I have learned the 534 has 1/4 steel where the 525 has 3/16. In addition the 534 flanges are not as high off the loader arm. I'll bet that the 534's are not going to see those flanges move much if at all. They appear to be built stronger than the 525's.

I would think so also, just giving the engineers the benefit of the doubt so I can feel good about the almost $6k I spent on that loader... lol
