I have searched and considered fabricating a custom tooth bar with side mounting bolts that match my Piranha bar.
As many of you know the internal width of the bucket is far less (46.5") than the 48" as advertised.
I welcome your thoughts and ideas. BX-2360

I made this one and have been pleasantly surprised at how well it works. Although it's not a Piranha copy.

It's a quite simple project, but maybe I am missing something.

"I have searched and considered fabricating a custom tooth bar with side mounting bolts that match my Piranha bar."

Why do you want to make another tooth bar to match your existing one?

RWS said, “Why do you want to make another tooth bar to match your existing one?”

I am not sure I understood either…I have same question as RWS.

The Piranha bar will not penetrate as well as a "toothed" bar. I do not want a bar that I have to bolt along the edge, but slip over the edge like my Piranha and bolt only to the sides.

By 'match' , he probably meant 'that will use the existing holes I had to drill into the sides of my bucket in order to mount the Piranha bar because I don't want to drill MORE holes into my bucket and at the same time don't want to use the factory set of holes already in the bucket'.

'match' seems easier to say and type, to me.....

The piranha bar works well for most people for some uses but it's not a perfect 'doesall' tool. The toothed bar I made for my BX23S does use the 7 , 5/8" holes in the bucket and is great at turning compost, tossing soil, scraping 'forest flooring' and clearing brush. It's also good at digging up tree roots, as long as I sharpen it 1-2 times a year.

Sorry, very early here and dimly lit-----Match in terms of its mounting to the bucket.

I think I see.

Well I got my stuff from Amazon.

I ordered the flat bar from someone like this, on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/Steel-Flat-Rolled-Pick-Length/dp/B0CQG676TP/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2M7IC2XAXVQHD&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.sNGkkDFVfgfyg5gpI6D6iXQYn6NgNdH9-MgOBYD1WMQkA0HyW3zHWzold0-PI_K7qvAFe65HG6E9a4GFKwjRvLkhx6TLeKemnvPtg-VAODaLChLMMdxL1KME6hh9J6M9t5KQuszqSO2BqCbXaPeMebGsC6rEi6SyxH6LAtnPMficO_L-Gwx9K7_LuTHd0PZz0sniLYFhMRzYRL-f4mJl0ohFZs1xIWIEi426Ii994eA.MeVgVtLtzBg91hqpNaXD-vi8j_5jPk9UdW4ZB6cypEo&dib_tag=se&keywords=1/2+x+2+48steel+flat+bar&qid=1730365223&sprefix=1/2+x+2+48steel+flat+bar,aps,116&sr=8-2&th=1

Then I decided to use these teeth,

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K8PDLDC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The hardest/most time consuming part was grinding the bevel. This was "pre-plasma cutter" , so it took a while with a regular "flap disk".

So for your case, matching the holes should be pretty straight forward. Just tack the sides in place, make sure the metal is covering the existing holes and drill them out.

Hahhhaha....as I was typing this, I found the "kit" that I bought. here it is.

https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Attachments-Custom-Toothbar-Excavator/dp/B01JSG7HI4/ref=sxin_16_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.76d54fcc-2362-404d-ab9b-b0653e2b2239:amzn1.sym.76d54fcc-2362-404d-ab9b-b0653e2b2239&crid=3B3DY2K9NFROH&cv_ct_cx=skid+steer+tooth+bar&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.WcxmHr3dRnX8oc_JfZ0pYVce2BYNS7pnJeLgrH-Ne_GnimKojB6vd8NzJjzHUUJ5.Ie5X7m3bM-QvPhx0EU_EdtkGgrqFQIoscimKX6ohMco&dib_tag=se&keywords=skid+steer+tooth+bar&pd_rd_i=B01JSG7HI4&pd_rd_r=0fe9ec7a-df61-439b-8988-2f24f11e0103&pd_rd_w=6eEgE&pd_rd_wg=cMPrf&pf_rd_p=76d54fcc-2362-404d-ab9b-b0653e2b2239&pf_rd_r=QTEZG2JTJ5H57V0C8B82&qid=1730365679&sbo=RZvfv//HxDF+O5021pAnSA==&sprefix=skid+steer+tooth,aps,119&sr=1-2-6024b2a3-78e4-4fed-8fed-e1613be3bcce-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&psc=1

I see that they sell bigger/more comprehensive kits now, but they seem al little "pricey".

Use the search words "Titan attachments tooth bar" and it pops up quite a few choices.

Overall, it was a quick, relatively easy, and fun project.

Thanks for your reply. I have a beveled flat bar to use. I ordered weldable teeth/shanks but the inside profile of the shank will not fit over the bar and lip of the bucket together. I do not want to drill holes along the lower edge either since I want the attachment to be removeable without much fuss like the Piranaha bar. I may order something on Amazon and modify it to fit internally on the bucket and bolt to the side like the Piranaha.

Hmmm....Now that you mention it, I had the opposite problem.

On mine the gap was too large.

I had to cut it (the tooth base) apart on the band saw, grind off about 3/16-1/4 inch, and then weld them back on.

Too make sure I got the proper gap, and to avoid a fitment problem, I ground a nice deep bevel, then I welded them when they were clamped in place on the bucket.

Got a perfect fit.

I would imagine that you will need to add a small spacer and weld it up.

I got this one, used, from "bus equipment ". They are in Quakertown PA, there website is bwsequipment.com. Although they do not list attachments, they do have a lot in stock, give them a call, would be a nice Saturday road trip.
