I purchased an L4850. It has very worn out R1's. I want to switch to turfs for my application (grass, snow, ice). The stock tires are 14.9-28's and 9.5-20's. I'm trying to verify the tire and rim size for turfs? Any suggestions?

I found this

So I assume the 29x12.5-15NHS and 21.5L-16.1 is the size I want? Came from the service manual.

Thanks

Yes those are the size of tires and you'll need the rims too.

You could also look at R-14's a lot of benefits all around.
R-14's could be in this size.
12-6.5 and 17.5L-24

I found a used set of tires and rims (turf) the right size that were taken off an M5700. I've asked for measurements as to the rims centre size and bolt diameter. Do you by any chance know if the rims are a straight bolt on?

The R-14's are very interesting. I'd need to find rims for them as well though. For whatever reason tractor rims in Canada are very expensive.

Thank you

The stud size is the same, I don't know about hole center or stud spacing.
The odds are high that they are the same.

Although I've been happy with the R4's on the most recent 3 tractors, there has always been some curiosity about using modern turfs. I say modern because my only turf tire experience was with an old dried-out pair of diamond tread tires on a 2WD Cub 154 LoBoy. If there was dew on the grass, it wouldn't even do go on the mild slopes I mowed.

I would have preferred R14's, but with the age of my machine, and the price of rims etc. I went with a used set of turfs. The prices (at least locally) that I'm finding for rims (and tires) makes my Scottish heritage screech. I'm still waiting for the new turfs to arrive. They are coming via a friend from about 3500km away so... patience is paramount...

I'll post an update on here once I've tried them out. My neighbour has some on his tractor and likes them (not sure of the brand).
