Help anybody!! I have a L48 I was running it today and everything was great. It has never gave me a bit of trouble. I shut the tractor off and Nothing now.
I don't get any power what so ever. Turn the key on get no dash lights nothing. It has nothing when I try to start either. I looked at the slow blow fuse and it looks ok. I did not have a meter handi to check it but it looks good. I should have brought it home with me but didn't I brought the ignition switch home with me and cheked it out per the Manual and it looks good so any idea's like I said not a click of anything when the key is turmned?

Check the fuse with an ohmmeter.

Check the other fuses as well.

An ohmmeter can be your friend. You must have one since the ignition switch was checked. Check the battery to ground with it and anything else in direct line from the battery.

See if you can arc the starter to ground to get it to turn over.

Lots of other things to try. The guys here will help.

My L35 did this once. It turned out to be the ground to the tractor frame was corroded. Cleaned it up and everything went back to normal. Let us know what you find out. Good luck!

Thanks Guys I will buy a new Slow blow as the tractor is back in the bush. So rather than make a separate check then have to go get a fuse I will buy one to take with me.. The Only thing that I did not check was the battery neg to frame it is right there in front of me and looks good but I will check it with the meter tonight. It is very odd that I have not one light.. I would think even if the ground were bad it should be good enough to make a click or turn on the dash indicators maybe not.. Starting I could see but you think the wire would heat up in the ground were bad.. Seemed normal
Someone mentioned the Safety switches but they are not in the circut until I try staring the machine. Will keep you posted with what i find thanks for the Idea's.. carl

Well guys thnks a ton for all the idea's
Seems I had a couple things. I picked up a piece of fencing wire and it snagged the wire that the slow blow fuse is in.
It must have pulled tight after I drove over it and had the insulation torn a little. Enough to get a bit of a ground not enough to cause the fuse to blow. I fixed this and still nothing.
I then looked at the battery ground and the wire where it attached to the frame was rusty tight but rusty. I removed it and cleaned the contact area and the bolt then put a new ground wire on and it fired right up. So it's back home running like new thanks a bunch great site and lots of tips here.. So even if the ground looks good check it .. Proof is a bad ground won't even light one light!! Thanks for convincing me of that. I bet I would not have looked at the ground tonight.. Your suggeston made me look glad I did.

Next step: get a longer ground cable and ground directly to a bolt on the engine rather than the frame. That will solve several issues as I found out on an L3650.

My 9000 acted up with me the other night. After mowing hay for 14 or so hrs I stopped by my moms house to eat supper before going home. I didn't shut it off all day so this was the first time it had stopped that day. When I went to leave it wouldn't hit a lick. The dash lights wouldn't come on and it wouldn't even make a click. I just installed a 31 series Optima battery in it about 2 months ago that has the extra top posts to power accessories and the lights I have hooked to it worked fine so I knew the battery wasn't dead. Long story short I took the cables off the battery and the poss. cable had a hard brown crust built up on the inside of it. It was so hard that a normal wire brush batt. cleaner wouldn't even remove it. I had to get one of the ones that have the cutting teeth to get this crap out. I had put batt. protectant on the post and cables when I installed the batt. but it built up this stuff anyway for some reason. After getting this mess out everything was fine but it for sure proves that a dirty cable can leave you standed at any time.
