What are you using on the three point???

I would say a three point backhoe, but an L48 has a 4 point subframe backhoe.

It seems like I’ve seen more than a handful of L35 and L48 break that part. I’m getting scared to use mine

Yes unfortunately that's true, it almost seems better to get schematics or find good mechinist to make a new one with better metal im sure that would be worth the money and imnsure they would get some business from tractors owners with this issue.

That what I though.

Gannon's are really hard on the top link connection, especially if your using the rippers.

You need to make a top link reinforcement bracket.
They made them for three point BH use.

I just have this Gannon box i use.
Thanks for the response!
It would seem that the Gannon (heavy even empty) just must be too big/heavy for the L48 when full.
Or..... did it fetch up on a rock?

Why is that Wolf?
Just to heavy of an implement!
It's usually the use in reverse that makes happen.
It's also the lifted weight and bounce that breaks a case like that.
Three point designs are really only meant for forward use.
Rearward use and lifted bounce pulls at the lift arms and snaps the case.

That cast iron rockshaft/cylinder housing is used on several L models - Lxx10 machines are closest - it has different part numbers due to small differences in the drilled holes in the front. Somebody on this forum was looking for one (last year?) and located a used one from a L3710 - was planning to have it modified to work - sorry I don't remember who it was.

UPDATE Here's the discussion. Apparently that poster didn't say how it turned out. Hope you find one. Its been some months so salvage yards may have gotten one by now?

ps - sent you a private message (envelope icon)

Hi Cerdahill,

I sent Dragok an invitation to join our conversation about this. Hope you can get more info on how he came out modifying the used one from a L3710. Take care, Dick B
