L4701HST Price Check

After a lot of research and a couple trips to the local dealer, I've decided the 4701 is what I want. I'm a first time tractor buyer and appreciate any opinions on the following quotes:

HST, R4 with rimguard, woods HD bucket, 3rd function valve - $30.8K pre-tax (incorporates all rebates, assumes 84 mo financing)

Dealer 2 was around $31.5K.

These are the initial prices, I have not started discussing price yet with either dealer, nor have I started a bidding war. I'm looking for any input on how much room I have to move. I'm also in the NE, which seems to be a bit more expensive than the south as an example, so I understand prices may vary a bit by region.

Edit: The above quote is ~7% below MSRP. What is an "average" dealer's % markup from MSRP? I'm looking for a fair deal, not trying to gouge every inch out of them...I like keeping my money local, but my loyalty only goes so far before the bank account wins and I go to another dealer.

I think the quote you have is high. But lots of things come into play. I purchased mine in the off season and my dealer really went to bat for me on getting me the best deal. Now that summer is here prices will hold as more people will be purchasing. To give you an idea your quote is extremely close to what I paid for a MX5800 with FEL and pallet forks. Highly recommend pallet forks as I use them 90% more than the bucket. Others will speak up but I believe 15% under MSRP is usually what you can get buying new. Also what I found is financing prices increase total cost to about $1,500-$2,000 so keep that in mind. Request a quote for cash and finance and you can see the difference. Good luck in your decision. Love my tractor. I looked at the L4701 first before settling on the MX.

I saved 10% off MSRP on my L2501 plus got about 1k in freebies, so I think 10% should be doable here in the northeast.

The financing is a big motivator for new vs. used, plus who knows how it was treated/taken care of by previous owner, I can get exactly what I want vs. searching forever for the "perfect" used one, etc. Pros and cons to both...if I personally knew someone selling what I wanted and wanted to pay full cash, that'd be a different story.

I have 11 acres, 1/4 mile of gravel drive, get a lot of snow, have a lot of tree clearing, a lot of dirt moving/adding to do, etc. Potential to buy an adjacent 80 acre lot in the future. MX would be nice for the 80 acres, but not great around the house/future garage area, woods are fairly dense, etc. I also have a neighbor with a lot of heavy equipment I can get help from on any future big projects the 4701 can't handle.

Totally agree I purchased a new tractor for the same reasons! Sounds like you already know what you need and I think you'll love the new beast! You'll have to post pictures once you take ownership!

Second Quote

Kubota la765 loader with quick attach and PFL3048 pallet forks.
Total for all items $27989.00
If you don't want, quick hitch is $300, palletforks $850.
