The left curl cylinder is leaking from the seal.
I went to the dealer and he said that it required 600ft/lb torque to remove the end cap so I should bring it to them to repair.
This seems like an excessive amount of force to disassemble the cylinder.
Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of the procedure and torque requirements?

I wanna say that sounds about right. You have to figure how much force and fluid is going on inside that cylender so yeah I could see needing 600ft/lb of force used to remove the cap.

I haven't had to do a Kubota cylinder yet but have done several off my bobcat mini x. They appear to be the same style and so far I haven't had much trouble getting mine apart. The worst I have fooled with was off a ford BH. I thought we were going to brake a 4' pipe wrench getting the end cap off it but it worked out in the end. If you do take it apart just remember to apply some heat to the nut on the inside. They have lock tite on the threads. Some heat on every other side of the nut is normally enough and it will spin off fairly easy.

I normaly just use a 24" pipe wrench and break the gland nut loose before removing the cyclinder pin. Doubt I have ever seen 600 ft lbs on a loader this size. I usually break loose the nut, remove the pin from the rod end, unscrew the nut completely, pull the rod from the barrel, replace the seals, reinstall rod, nut and pin.
