I am looking at both tractors - dealer can secure me a leftover L4600 HST for just about the same price as a L3901 HST - less than $1000.00 difference.

Which would be my better buy ?

Thanks in advance for any input you may have.

The L4600 hands down!
More tractor, the L4600 is about 10 more HP than the L3901
Less emissions junk too!

L4600 PRE emissions gets my vote hands down. I've heard alot of complaints with the def crap there's a loss of horse power compared to older model diesel.

Tier 4 emissions require that you "work" the tractor at high rpm and load. OK while you are plowing, tilling, brush hogging, etc. A good part of the time, however, I'm just fooling around, moving things, doing light loader work, all at about 1700 rpm. I wouldn't to have to do it at or near rated revolutions. Go for the L4600!

Have ya got it yet?
No sir - not yet - Dealer that is closest to me and that I would like to deal with is trying to arrange a dealer trade for me - he expects to be able to complete the arrangements on Monday.

We will go from there - I do not actually need it yet - but will but a unit without emissions if I can get it and have it when I am actually ready to use it in a few months.

I am also looking at a Kubota UTV the 1120D - that will most likely get used right away.
