Hi,
Does anyone know if a hydraulic chute control (up/down) is available for the L4469 snowblower? If so, how much is it and is it an owner installable part?
Thanks,
Tony Green

Looking at the chute on your snowblower, it appears that it might be possible. The first question for this discussion would be "do you have a third function valve" on your tractor? If the answer is yes, then it is a matter of determining the throw of the cylinder that will be used to connect the lower part of the chute to the upper part of the chute. Then you will need to purchase 2 hoses, and quick couplings to mate up to the 3rd function valve. From past experience with smaller snowblowers, the chute cylinder is the same one used for snow plow angling. I suspect that it is the same for your snowblower also. Below is the diagram of the chute parts. Pay particular attention to parts 110 through 140 since the cylinder will be replacing these parts.
Tomorrow I will try to find the time to take some pictures of the chute on my BX2822 snowblower that I converted to a hydraulic chute for less money than buying the factory parts. I had a spare snow plow cylinder, and hoses, so all I needed to purchase were 2 brackets, a bunch of bolts, washers, and nuts, along with a pair of quick disconnects. This year I will be replacing the old and tired hoses with new hosed.

I bought a cylinder from surplus center and modified it to fit my land pride snow blower

i cut the ends off of the cylinder and the rod and welded the pieces I cut from the fixed position rod on works great.

Here is the cylinder I used. Only cost $129 plus the shipping and some time.
