L4300D fuel solenoid

Need some help with my wiring.
I have an L4300D that clicks once to engage the
fuel solenoid and 3 seconds later clicks again
disengaging the solenoid.
The tractor will actually start in that interval
but won't remain running.
I can hotwire the solenoid and it will run all day.
Also I can remove the solenoid and it will run, I just have
to pull the manual kill on the injection pump like most
tractors.
My question is what powers that solenoid to the 'on' position?
I have two wires running to the thing and one seems to be the
'start' and the other the 'run'??????
Neither are ground. I have test- lighted and volt- metered this thing
to death. I have 13v when it clicks 'on' and 0v when 'off'.
If these tractors are a 'power off' design then I'm never getting the
'power on'. Bought the $80 manual but it doesn't have wiring diagram
for the electric fuel solenoid.
Any help out there??????

i am experiencing the same situation on a L3130. local dealer advises me that the opc timer relay may be the cause at a cost of $70.00 for the part. reluctantly purchased it, also, i understand it requires some disassembly of the dash for replacement.

If mine goes out and all I loose is the ability to kill the engine with the key then I will do away with it and pull the manual kill switch and be done with it. I'm used to cutting my other tractor off manually so it wouldn't be a big deal.

hey waldoze, did you get your 4300 going? replace the opc timer relay on the 3130 yesterday and fixed the problem. 30 minute job of partial disassembly of the dash for replacement.

Well I'm sure that's it but I haven't had time to get back at it. I was wondering about testing procedures on the output of that timer. Since I can't find a wiring diagram and I can't see what wire runs out of the timer to the solenoid without cutting the wire wrap loose (I don't want to do that).
I guess I'll spend the $70-80 on a new one and hope for the best.

I'll post again when I get it back original. And I'll have a better idea of the wiring diagram and may post a hand drawn schematic with repair info.
Just wish manufacturers didn't feel it necessary to kill us on repair costs after killing us on purchase prices.
