Hi, my dad own a L4240 with a HST transmission.
All out of sudden the other day it wouldn't drive forward anymore and only in reverse.
At first I thought of the forward proportional HST valve on the side of the transmission being at fault so I swapped the electric connector from the reverse valve on the forward valve and the forward connector on the reverse valve.
No luck it was still only driving in reverse.
I then swapped both valve, took the bottom one and placed it ontop and took the top one and placed it at the bottom. Installed the electric connector correctly and now it was driving forward but not in reverse.
I thought that i had found the issue.
It was getting late so I waited until this morning to go at the dealer and purchase a brand new HST valve.
I installed it this morning and now the tractor wont drive forward again and only goes in reverse.. on top of thats its always on reverse now.. as soon as I let the clutch go it drive in reverse instead of being in neutral which was the case yesterday.
I tried to unplug both HST valve connector and also unplugged the potentiometer under the hst pedal on the floor and it was still going in reverse as soon as I would release the clutch.
Anyone has any idea what the trouble can be and what could be my next trouble shooting step?
I tried to find the workshop manual for this tractor and get the procedures but couldn't find it anywhere.
I tried to call a few dealers nearby and they all refused to give me any info on that and wanted us to tow the tractor to their shop instead.
I hope that anyone in here with more experience than me can help us out !
