Hello all,

New member, just joined.
I just bought a 1998 Kubota L4200, gear model, unloaded R4 tires, and a LA680 loader.
It has a ROPS but no cab.
Haven't brought it home yet and I'm trying to determine if my trailer can haul it.
TractorData.com says the tractor alone weighs 3500#, however, the operators manual says 3030#.
Anyone know for sure the correct weight of an L4200 ?

And also the correct weight of the LA680 loader with its 5' bucket, and associated mounting frame ?

Thanks,
Arky

Thanks for the replies.
I wonder why the operators manual shows the weight at 3030# ?
Could that be the weight as shipped without wheels and tires ?
If 3527# is right, then another 1600# for the loader, etc., that puts it at 5127#. That's going to be quite a bit for my trailer; it's a 76"x16' tandem with 3500# axles, brakes on the rear axle. Got to go about 100 miles to pick it up. Sound doable ?

(I just got an email answer from TractorData.com. I had emailed them about their data showing the L4200 at 3500# when the operators manual lists it at 3030#. They said that their number, 3500#, was for the tractor with a cab on it. Not sure where they get their info from.)

Vic, is your info from a service manual or another Kubota publication ? You mentioned that the operators manual probably shows the weight with standard configuration tires which I assume means R1. If that's the case, it doesn't seem like R4s over R1s would boost the weight 497#.

Regardless, I've got to go after it with what I've got.
I'll just take it real slow.

Thanks,
Arky

Arky, I have a similar trailer to yours, 6x16 rated for 7000 pounds and I've hauled about the same weight as a L4200 with no problem. I even managed to stuff my ex-girlfriend's Chevy Suburban 4x4 on my trailer when I wrecked it. I only have a Ford F150 to pull with. But I am a nut and I am used to hauling heavy overweight loads since I drive tractor trailers for a living.
