We had our tractor stolen several years ago and I was hoping posting on here might turn something up.
It was a 96 model L4200 GSTC SR# 53212 with a loader LA680 SR# 16463 and a 5ft box blade. We also had the tires changed out to turf tires and it had a cab.

A suggestion would be to revisit with the sheriff dept and see if it is still in their database. These numbers are more shared now than a few years ago.

It's of little comfort to you, but some A$$H stole a tractor up in Hunt county. He is now in state prison because the owner had the numbers.

I have lost 4 machines in the past 5 years. I am installing GPS on every major machine. Rocky Mountain Tracking has a device that is affordable and works pretty well. They are under $200.00 per unit and $29.00 per year for the service. They have other devices with more complete reporting. I use the less expensive version in that I have 30 of them.

Catch 22 if you get it back is....... how much was it used in the "drive it like its stolen" mode.

Actually "drive it like it was stolen" is easier on a machine than "drive it like it was rented".
Ain't that the truth. In the biz myself. I love it when they bring something back covered in concrete. Or try to pump concrete with a water pump

I googled your tractor model and got a lot of hits on them being sold (Machinery Trader etc.). Keep checking. I know it would obsess me to no end

I think if you take your tractor info. (serial number, model number, etc) they will have it on their computer if it's been sold or traded.

When I tried to get info. on the L305 after I bought it, and curious to what year it is they had a computer list of when same models were sold over the U.S.

Some manufacturers have such a system. It works one time out of a million. The police here couldn't find their mouth with a $30.00 pizza. I have gone on the offensive with GPS and cameras so far.

Depends on the location too. When i worked in florida, customers were getting hit with a lot of heavy equipment thefts. Folks were so used to seeing heavy haulers roll up to a construction site after hours, that they wouldn't pay attention. Equipment could get loaded, and be in the port of miami within 5 hours. On a freighter in 6. Most heavy equipment down there has been lojacked for that reason.
