L4200 gst starts, won't shift into gear.

tractor starts fine but when "Shuttle Shift Lever" put into forward or reverse position and "Main Gear Shift " put into gear the tractor does not engage into gear.

Some help please am stuck in field.

Check hydraulic fluid level and condition.
Is the three point working properly?
Is the power steering functioning?
I'll send you a link to download the WSM, go look on page 3-S2.

Will get to tractor and check fluid. Has 1300hrs total. Fluid last changed bout 700hrs ago so needs changed but 3 point ,loader, steering working.

Try checking the shuttle lever linkage down to the point of entry at the transmission. Make sure that the shift leading into is actually rotating, could be the roll pins gave out. After that it's going have to be split.
