Just bought a L4150, the tractor runs very good but does not pull good in the upper gears in high range, it runs and pulls good in the lower ranges, it seems like it is not getting enuff fuel, I pulled it against a bank and it will spin the tires in 4 wheel dr in the lower gears, is there anything I can check, this tractor had been sitting up since last summer, just bought it 2 days ago. it is a 4wheel dr with shuttle shift trans. any help appreciated, one more thing, the factory fuel filter has been replaced by an inline filter, but I took the line loose at the output and seems like there is a good supply of fuel.

I would check pressure in modulator valve make sure you have right pressure
it should about 250 psi hook the gauge on F AND R port its on the fire wall engine side beside the power steering tank allan screws. You will have to get a 1/8 pt thread adaptor it is british thread to do it. You should look on line for a service book for tracktor on ebay i bought one for the L3350 got a good deal on it was just like new about $45 which is a great price. This will tell you if your clutch pack is slipping or not it is a good spot to start with out spending a lot of money

When you say high range just how high up in the gears are you talking, are you in the highest of gears in like 8th or 9th? What exactly are you trying to pull in high range that you cant move? Higher ranges on a tractor are ment for travel and dont really budge all that well with a load behind it.

I would look at the fuel filter first thing. If it's just starting to stop up it will still have pretty good power in the low gears but it will really hurt you in the upper ones.
