A L4150 I worked on for a friend has an issue with the 3 point system. I sent it home after doing much work on it, now a couple months later the 3 point won't lift. The loader is operational however.

There is no fluid leak apparent, so, I believe that there must be a seal (o-ring) that has failed internally. They had a disc attached and were using it. After making a pass with it, it failed to lift.

Thoughts? And how big of a repair might this be?

That model is fairly easy to repair the cylinder if that's what it needs.
First check for operation of the feed back lever on the left hand side that connects to the lift arm.
Turn the valve under the seat.

A common failure point is where the lift piston 010 seals in the bore (see diagram). If seals 020, 030, 050 leak by it no longer lifts or holds. Inexpensive parts, easy to replace. BTW the valve under the seat only affects lowering speed of the hitch arms, is not involved in raising.

I looked at the explode parts diagram.....ordered $20 worth of o-rings and had them shipped to the tractor....from Messicks.

Looks simple enough....thanks for the replies!

Not 100% true, on Most models, if the valve is completely closed it will stop rise operation too. ;)

Also have a problem with the 3PT use on an L4150. Arms are now stuck in partial lowering position. Will not go up or down. Have lifted blade with another tractor so it can be raised manually but not lowered. any help will be greatly appreciated.
