I am considering making my first tractor purchase. Looking at the L4060HSTC-LE with a BH92 backhoe. I also wanted TopNTilt but it is not available as an option with the backhoe. I talked to a dealer and he had no idea why it wasn't possible.

It appears from their website this across the board for all Grand and Grand-LE series. It is one or the other but not both.

Does anyone know why this is?

Not a clue, other than the fact you need rear remotes. The BH runs off a direct supply line and the remotes run separate. You have to remove the 3 pt. hitch to have the BH on the machine and then when you remove the BH you re-install the 3pt. hitch. I have just the top but not the tilt, no problem. Mine was done after the fact, I added the top after I had the BH installed.

Top and tilt will fit, however the backhoe subframe will constantly cause clearance issues for the side adjustment.

I will be relying on the backhoe for several months before I will need to use the 3 point. Have stumps to remove first. Then will rely more on brush cutter and box blade. Only time I might switch back to the BH is to dig the utility drenches.

Since TopNTilt is not a factory option, what about adding rear remotes. What valves do I need? I have a background in industrial hydraulics but not Ag. Do I want both valves to be float or detent? Then use Fit Rite cylinders.

My land has a draw or valley that runs the width of it. Mowing and grading driveway will require crossing it.

I always advise to get both T&T control valves to have the float feature. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I also recommend getting the 3 rear remotes that are available. You never know when you will need a separate control for an implement cylinder.

Keep in mind though, there are known issues with the factory Kubota rear remotes having excessive internal leakage. This is not with every set, but with a large amount of them and Kubota corporate will not warranty this issue.

If you happen to have a very good dealer, they will often try to help the customer out. (y)

There are solutions to deal with this issue, just not as nice as having everything work as it should though.
