Recently reached the 50 hour mark on new L4060. Dealer said that with regard to hydraulic fluid only a filter change was required not the oil. I wondered about leakage when removing the filters and was told there would be some but not a lot. I replaced the HST filter and there was some leakage but not a lot. Upon removing the second larger filter I was nearly drowned in hydraulic fluid as it gushed around the loosened filter. By the time I was finished I had lost almost 8 litres. Comments?

There are some other threads which discuss putting suction pressure at the hydraulic fill point to hold the liquid in.

The other way is to have super-clean containers to catch the spill, for putting back in.

When you're the one paying for the fluid, any spill is too much.

When it comes to replacing suction filters on a Kubota hyd system, you gotta be fast. They aren't operator friendly.
