Just purchased a 1,450 lb no till seed drill. Tractor will pull all day long, no problem, but won’t lift it more than 1” off the ground (at 1,800 rpm). Should I test at PTO level of 2,500 ? Is there a hack to get an extra 3” out of the three point ? Should I try adding weight up front to counter balance ? Have been using my friend’s L4060 this season, but thinking ahead to spring planting. Thank you.

By all means, try it at rated PTO speed. Your tractor is rated at just shy of 2000 pounds at the pins and 1450 24 inches back from there.

You can test your system's pressure, it should be 2347 psi. Usually it set on the low side from dealers (protects the tractor somewhat). I raised mine up to 2500 a dozen years ago.

No need to load weight on the loader unless your front tires need the weight to get traction.

The L4060 is a more powerful, bigger and heavier tractor...

To start with, try using the upper holes in the lower clevises on the 2 side links.

You are at the upper limits of the tractor's hitch, so you might need to fudge the hydraulic pressure a bit.

Good luck. :)

A word to the wise. Long heavy 3pt implements bouncing around on the 3pt break things. Be very careful about boosting pressure beyond the factory specification.

Thank you; I’ll order the OEM pressure gauge to test 👍🏻

how much does the seed weigh ? the drill's 1450# is probably close to the LIMIT the tractor can lift so adding 300# of seed more than maxes out the lifting ability.

She struggled even with empty seed boxes. Think I need a 4060, though I’m not a fan of all the bells and whistles those come with
