Hello all,
I just became the proud new owner of an L3901 earlier this week, it was actually a surprise for my father but I'll get to play with it too. It is our first Kubota.

It came with the Front Loader as well as a Grapple.

The property came with an old Allis-Chalmers (maybe from the 40s) that has sat for 20 odd years, but also several attachments - bush hog, box blade, disc tiller - TBD whether any of them work.

I just wanted to say hi and welcome any advice with regard to routine maintenance that can be DIY vs when it is best to leave it to the professinals

Thank you

Welcome to the forum, the L3901 is a great tractor, I have one too. You will see in the owners manual a maintenance schedule, first main requirements are at 50 hours, if you have basic skills you can do all of the preventative work yourself. Remember the daily recommended checks too.

Enjoy your new machine, it can do a lot of different tasks.

If it's used from a dealer or individual, I'd suggest changing all fluids and filters (including checking the air filter). Usually, when someone trades in or sells a used tractor, the get real lax on fluid changes and basic maintenance.

Very nice Kubota! Enjoy!

I think your A-C WD or WD45 is circa early '50's +/- . Very capable tractors by their own right and in their time. Not an A-C expert by any stretch, but there were many of these in my area as a kid.

I think there are a few A-C owners here on OTT.

Love my L3901! One thing that it likes is rear weight when using the loader. Lots of different ways to add the weight. I chose to have the tires filled with rim guard and also filled up the wheel wells with weights that I custom made myself. About 500 lbs per side.

It would be interesting to learn how you made your wheel weights.

I'll scrounge up the pictures and post how I made these in the fabrication forum.

What brand grapple? Third function or diverter valve? I can't tell from the picture, is it a HST or DT?

I have had mine since Dec 2014 and have 392 hours on it. I have been think about a grapple, but not sure about spending the money on one.

You might want to look in to a set of pallet forks. I think out of everything I have bought for the tractor, they are the thing that I use the most.
