Anyone on here run an L3901DT with a 6’ brush hog? How does it handle it? With the loader and without the loader?

My dad runs one on his L3800. It can be a little light in the front without the loader when carrying it with the cutter raised up. It’s had plenty of power to pull the cutter in thick grass and brush. He has a Bush Hog Squealer.

I have run my 6' Ford Rotary Cutter (it's pretty heavy) on mine for about 4 hours. I did not remove the loader. It did fine power wise, but I wasn't taxing it really hard either (16" tall weeds). It's heavy on the lift but it will do so long as you aren't trying to cut really thick stuff.

I have enjoyed the telescoping stabilizers immensely! I am looking next to do a rear remote for the top link. Boy do I like being able to adjust on the fly.

What is the hp?

I mowed for years with a 1974 MF 135 with a loader with a 5' mower. No problem. Love this tractor, but couldn't lift 1200 pound hay bales. b

I just brought home a 6' rotary cutter a few weeks ago. I have been running it with a L3560HST at 28 PTO HP. I haven't had it long, but so far I have been happy with the results using it to clear heavy brush up to 2" diameter (most of it 3/8" to 1-1/2"). Handles it better than I thought it would. I cannot say I have a lot of experience with it yet, but just another data point on a simular HP tractor (actually slightly less).

If it would just stop snowing, I could use it more.

A 6' rotary cutter is too much for a 3901 in anything but ABSOLUTELY IDEAL conditions.

I use a Woods BB720X 6' cutter on my L6060 and it's often all it wants.
