I just bought a new L3901 with a BH77 backhoe. I'm finding it very tight sitting on the hoe in between the rops. I'm 6' 250. It is more arm and elbow room while manipulating the controls for the hoe than anything else. Has anyone made any modifications to allow more elbow room?

6’ and 250 and a screen name of Beef...lose the belly and you’ll have more room[emoji12]

On a serious note I have the same setup and I’m 6’4” and 265, and they could definitely use a little American engineering over in Japan. My neighbor has a B3200 with a backhoe but he has a spin around seat giving him more room. I don’t imagine it would be to hard to retro a spin around seat on a slide to get the additional room you require. I’m very seriously considering doing it to mine.

Check to see if the seat is bolted thru the back set of holes, this will push the seat back a little and check to see that the seat mount is on the top holes that hold the two sections together.

If needed, I can take some pictures.

Be glad you have larger tractors.
Here's the wife (5'7") on our B7100 with B670 hoe.
I'm 5'8" and ah, huskier.
One of these days I'm going to pop out of that seat for a quick look at something & knock myself out.

Move the seat with angle. I used aluminium because it's what I had. Makes a big difference

I saw the angle iron trick on youtube before I purchased the tractor. Couldn't find it when I needed it. Thanks for the pics. That looks like a perfect fix.

Good job! A minute of grinding on those front edges may save some skin one day.
