L3901 and 6’ shredder?

New to the group and soon to be new Kubota owner this Spring. I’ve never owned a tractor before and will be using it for mostly shredding (@50 acres) hunting areas. I am looking at the L3901 for smaller size to maneuver around oak trees, but really want a 6’ shredder to keep up my fencelines and bigger hunting pastures. Will L3901 struggle with 6’ shredder?

Ideas.....thoughts?

Yes.

I would not recommend a 6' cutter for a 3901 except in IDEAL conditions.

Then it would need to be a light weight one and you will need front weights if not on nearly level ground.

I guess it will depend on how big in diameter the stuff your cutting is.

I used a Land Pride 6' light/medium cutter on my old L3901 and it did just fine cutting tall thick grass and weeds an inch or less in diameter.

Mine was a HST model and I never noticed it lugging pulling that cutter around.

I'd stick with the 5' bush hog. I have the L3901 and a 5' land pride. I also have a 6' bush hog that I pull with my 45HP Farmtrac.

Well...as it goes I once hung the 6' Bush hog on the kubota. It was nice to be cutting wider than the tractor - But it's just too much for it when truly bush hogging. I do MOW with a 6' finish mower behind my L3901 it does good like that.
