Howdy gang I was operating my L3830 this afternoon cutting some brush on a pretty steep hillside. I was traveling straight up the hill probubly a 30 degree angle and the tractor acted like it was running out of fuel I reversed back down to the flat graound and she came back up to operating RPM. I only had a 1/4 tank of fuel when she did this and Im thinking the fuel pick up is in the front section of the tank and she sucked a little air, anyone know for sure . It was to dark when I got back to the barn to check . I filled her with fuel and will attack the hill again tomorrow . Thanks Dan

I have this same tractor; I usually try to keep it above a quarter tank to avoid the chance of this happening. If you have sucked air into the fuel system, there is a procedure for purging, same as used for when you change fuel filter I think? I believe I found a how-to on the web one time about it. I have the manuals (operators, parts & shop) for this tractor at my shop. Will try to check this evening for you. Try a google you should be able to find the procedure.

The tractor started right back up and runs fine pulls hard on the flat ground, I caught it quick enough so there wasnt a problem it just sputterd a bit .I took it back to level ground and ran fine going to fill the fuel tank and attempt the hill again to see what happens.....Dan
