L3800 vs L3940

Hello, I am looking to buy a L3800 or step up to a Grand L. I am wondering how much transmission whine could be expected out of a L3800 with a gear transmission? Would a Grand L 3940 with a GST transmission have any whine? Would one be any quieter than the other? I cannot stand a transmission that whines! I guess thats why I have always stayed away from HST, although I've heard plenty of gear transmissions that whined. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've had a L3800 gear drive for a few months now and absolutely love it! It does have a little trans whine, but no where near as much as a HST.

The L3940 being a larger, heavier tractor, I'd guess it has less whine, but I really don't know. It is also a higher price rig though.

I really don't think you can go wrong with a 3800.
