Yes, it shouldn't be a problem, we have done it on several tractors.

Changing hydro fluid is fairly simple. Your operator's manual has all the information necessary to do the job. Get your filters, the fluid and have at it.

Kubota now recommends waiting until 400/450 hours to change fluid but many, myself included, follow the older instructions and change fluid at 50 hours. One of the filters has a magnetic ring that catches most of the manufacturing bits left in the reservoirs. They definitely recommend a filter change at 50 hours and you'll need some spare fluid for what you lose doing that job.

Just make sure you drain both sides of the rear axles - and be ready for a lot of oil to dump out - once it is draining, it is hard to stop to change pans.
Keep your receipts as proof, just in case. Sometime down the road it is nice to have a handful of receipts to show you really did something to maintain the tractor.

On an L3800 it's actually both sides of the transmission case but same difference. OP, See page 66 in your owner's manual.

What I did for a drain pan was I bought one of those plastic tubs with the rope handles and cut about 1 1/2 " off the top just so it fit under the tractor , . Made a great oil catch pan also use it in the garage lined with a yard waste bag when Im skinning and cleaning deer keeps the mess down to a minimum.
