I just purchased a slightly used L3800. It has the jerky 3 Pt hitch that I have read countless threads about. I have there are a couple of potential fixes but nothing concrete, so has anyone heard any updates on a solid fix for the problem?

No updates on a fix.
It's a discontinued model so no more will be done about it.
If you want to fix it completely, you'll need to replace the valve with a Grand L valve.

Thanks for the info. Any idea on the cost of a Grand L valve? I wonder if they fixed the problem on the L3900 or if the problem still exists.

Yep, sorry, I meant the L3901. I can't believe Kubota dropped the ball on this issue. There are threads that state the Grand L valve will work and I've seen nothing stating the valves will not fit the L. I wonder if the dealers state it would not fit because they would be overwhelmed with L3800 owners that would want that Grand L valve installed under warranty.

It is my "feelings" that a jerky hitch might be caused by the feed back rod, not being adjusted correctly... I have not heard anyone trying to adjust it to fix the jerkiness.
I have the maintenance manual and will read up on the hydraulics and possibility of adjusting the feedback rod. Kubota screwed up and needs to own it. I just got a 1947 Farmall Cub running for a friend and the hydraulics on that thing couldn't be smoother.

Your complaining about an issue that is on a tractor that has been out of production for 4+ years.

And they did address it, they replaced the model! :p

The problem existed from day one on this tractor according to the threads I have read. My complaint is Kubota screwed alot of buyers and should have made it right. That is what a class company does.

Introducing a new model is not fixing the problem, it is sweeping the problem under the rug. If the L3901 doesn't have the problem then they should tell us what they did to correct the problem, but then they would have to admit there was a problem making them liable.

It is a simple three point hitch that has been around since the 60's. There is no excuse....none, for it not to work perfectly. My problem is not as bad as others I have read about so I can live with it but just would like to have it right, nothing wrong with that.

I spent a career going behind companies like them, redesigning and fixing engineering errors while watching them deny any responsibility and reverse engineer my redesign and sell the fix, for a problem they said didn't exist.

I have heard about this problem but it isn't on all L3800s. Mine is very smooth fortunately.

Hi there. New to this site, hence my first post.

I have the L3901 and have found the jerkiness is gone from the earlier models which I had considered. I have heard others having the same experience.
