L3800 child lock , unable to raise or lower front forks

HELP! There 's a "child safety" lock to prevent the hydraulics raising or lowering the front loader. So currently the raise/ lower lever/stick is locked. The locking lever is in neutral but won't move to release it .
Has anyone experience of this issue?

Wiggle the stick while you move the child lock.... or have you tried that? It's a bunch of holes that have to line up...
