The shaft has stripped the splines coming out of the front axle and connecting to the propeller shaft under the the tractor belly. I moved last year and can't find where I packed my shop manual. Can anybody tell me how to get the bevel gear out of the axle? Do I have to pull the axle shafts before I can pull this rear facing shaft?

Yes, I went through this on our old L3750. Stripped the splines on the pinion gear. Too much loader work with no counter weight on the 3 pt...

The axles do have to come out to get the ring and pinion center section out. I replaced ring & pinion set, pinion bearings & seals. I also had a lot of wear at the front/back pivots points that needed attention. Then needed to do a fair bit of work on the ends of the front end (hubs).

Had my dealer order all the parts for around $1200. Just glad Kubota had the parts for a tractor this old...

Good luck!

Welcome to OTT, Surepop!
I don't know of any pinion gear that you wouldn't have to remove the differential to remove. And, removing the diff would mean pulling the axle shafts.
