What are you calling the 4wd drain????
And like i said before, the front and rear fill port go to all of the same places so no need it filling both places.
DO NOT pressurize the case even with 2 psi, it's not a wise thing to do.
If you have a case leak, even on the top, it will have hydraulic fluid leaking out of it.
it is called the front drive case in the book, which gives you 4wd, yes? I added the 2.5 gallons to the rear fill port only because I drained 2 gallons out after the trans was drained. I know it is all shared, but I was trying to get the best reading on the sight glass without starting it.
I appreciate your input, but not seeing where a 1-2 psi increase in case pressure would be detrimental to the trans. Especially on lip seals in a static environment. What am I missing? I do not want to take a chance on water contaminating the $300 worth of fluid I just added to my unit. Thanks 79e685e8-30bc-4f8b-acbe-5a798bef465b.jpg eba34085-faf9-47d2-a0e1-11ec4623139e.jpg

That's like adding water to both ends of a bathtub so both ends are full. You can fill the unit by pouring all the oil into one of the fill ports. Most models only have one fill port.

The reason the system has a vent is to avoid pressure building, which could damage a seal, O-ring seal, joint, etc.
