L3650 Steering Box

Anyone have a power steering box or a housing for a L3650? I've only owned this machine for about a month. Looks like someone did a butcher job on this one during a seal install. They tried to weld it and never cleaned out the recess. The snap ring shattered and stretched the boss next to the recess. I will try my hand at cast iron welding and cut the recess out with a Dremel if not.

Finished product. Reassembly starts today with all new seals from Messick's. New 360 grit 2 1/2" flex hone for the bore also got here today .

Pau7220, looks like you gave it a second life! Nice job!!

I had a similar problem on a special U-joint on a hay bind. I ended up welding with a nickle rod and grinding with a dremel wheel. Took some time but it's still together, 12 years later.

Some folks just do not know when to quit when they are in a destructive mode.
