Hey guys, I’m picking up a L3560 LE soon with a 72 inch rotary cutter. I know this has been discussed on here several times with other tractors, but Im debating trailers right now. Will an 18 foot tilt be able to handle that set up? I’m ok with a couple of feet (rear wheel) hanging off the back as I am only transporting it like that locally. Thank you.

It should be just fine for your described needs, though if buying new, and offered a choice, I would probably pick a 20' trailer!

Yes a 18 footer will work, but I would go with a 20 foot trailer. Also at least 10k as I have seen one 7k tilt trailer and the trailer took up 3k of the weight.

The potential problem with a 'just fits' trailer , is it may not balance properly. Generally you need 10-15% of the weight on the tongue, so you need some distance to move tractor/implement to the 'sweet spot'.
Make sure BOTH axles have brakes on whatever you buy.

A lot of people say 18' is too short. I have my B2601 on a 9x6 tipping trailer. 18' is twice as long as that. My 9' is a bit short, but it works. So personally I'd say an 18' is enough. But it depends whether you're talking bare tractor or you want implements on there too, and if you want implements too, then how many of them?
If it's mainly to move the tractor only (for servicing for example), then 18' is heaps. If you are taking the machine to do work somewhere else, then the question is what implements you need to take with you to do that work. The tractor with loader on and a cutter on the back would be getting tight on an 18'.

That L3560 is only 11" shorter than my MX6000 which I move around on a couple of 22ft equipment trailers. The photos below show two MX6000 tractors with three different implements , both with and without the bucket, and they might give you some idea as to amount of room available. Personally I'd opt for at least 20ft as others have said.
Even without the bucket on, the MX and 7ft rotary cutter wont fit on the 22ft trailer. I'll be using the 22ft hydraulic tilt deckover trailer to haul the M6060 and 7ft rotary cutter without the front loader attached, and that might just fit on the trailer without the tail wheels hanging over the back. We'll see soon enough.

My L3560 LE with LA805 loader and box blade fits on my 18 foot 10K tilt. Hauled over 1020 miles so far.
If I had the choice to do it again I would go with a 20 foot trailer to give some room to play.

Only thing I would add is to think about is maybe consider key point of being able to have proper tongue weight and balance. If the tractor and implement just barely nominally fit the lineal length, it doesnt really allow much to adjust the position to get balance with correct tongue weight. I’d offer you want a little room on each end in addition to the length of machine and implement(s) you may want to haul. Likewise consider you will back machine on or drive on…that also changes how you will balance the load.

I have an aluminum 16’ trailer, max load 5820 lbs. I need to move my L3560LE 800 miles to our new home. Can I comfortably put the tractor on the trailer with the bucket removed and haul it that distance? I can’t afford to let the trailer nor tractor trashed. Thoughts?

Tractordata.com shows the weight of your bare tractor at 3880 lbs.
IF the Tractordata weight is correct, the load should be just fine without the bucket.
Why not just load the tractor, and take to local scales to check your weight.

L3560HSTC-LE with (R4 tires), LA805 loader, 72" HD Bucket, and BB1572 72" Box Scraper weights 5860 pounds (according to CAT Scales).
Tractor without box blade and bucket came in at 4,973 pounds.

Do you have Insurance for any/all loss of your tractor?
You can buy a one year (all perils) loss policy from Inland Marine, through your local insurance agent.
I picked up my (used- $32K) L48 TLB with my own trailer, but was concerned about a trailer loss accident while transporting nearly 400 miles, so bought a 1 year ($500) Inland Marine policy.
You also might check with the issuer of your auto or homeowner policy.
Either may be able to offer a trailer content loss rider.
I would definitely recommend specific tractor loss (peace of mind) coverage for an 800 mile tow!
