I just bought a l355ss, moves slow in both directions and will stop moving on any kind of incline. I have checked lubrication oil pressure and clutch relief pressure at the shuttle shifter, they are both within spec. I removed the spool on the priority valve, it is not stuck but it does show signs of wear. Could I be loosing volume throu it and that would effect my foward and reverse clutches packs.???

Get out of the hydraulic system, that's not your issue!
Sounds like the mechanical clutch is toast.

Ok, thanks for your answer. Wouldn't there be clutch pack material in the pickup screen of the hyd pump?
It's a standard dry clutch, not the hydraulic clutch packs, that is the issue.
Pull this cover and you might or might not see the clutch disk.

And greetings from just north east of you.

Greetings to you too. I don't think it is the dry clutch, only because when I first checked the pressures at the shuttle valve they were a little below spec. After shimming the relief valves it did improve the movement of tractor, but did not fix the problem. But I will remove plate and see what I can see.

You can test it super fast if you have a PTO driven implement.
Hook up the PTO implement and Engage it then try and move if when you try and move the PTO stops turning with force then it's 100% the mechanical clutch is toast.

I've never seen one that both the forward and reverse hydraulic clutches went out at the same time.
It would be really odd!

I don't have a pto implement to hook to tractor. I did pull the plate off the side of bell housing, could not see anything in there to help. Everthing is moving like it should.

Well try engaging the PTO it and watch it spin and try and move the tractor.
